May Events

Our final social of the year is tomorrow!!

Spring Fling right after school until 5:30. $5 entry fee and concessions. Also, there will be some water involved, so students should bring a change of clothes and a towel....

6th grade should be picked up in the normal pick up line and 7th/8th grade should be picked up in the bus lot (double lines down the sidewalk and exit towards Brewbaker).

SOL Tests continue next week:

Tuesday 8th grade math & Alg. I

Wednesday 7th grade math

Thursday 6th grade math

Expedited Retakes will be the week of May 11th and the last day of testing will be May 15th.

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th graders

Both grade levels had about 100% attendance of students who were scheduled to test. So there are very few make ups which is great!!! Thank you parents!!!

Stakeholders were invited to become part of the collaborative effort to develop the comprehensive plan. A committee was formed to evaluate and prioritize the data from the planning survey that was gathered in the fall of 2022. Stakeholders — including parents, community members, students, teachers, and local business leaders and partners, as well as school and division level administrators — worked for months using the survey data to not only envision a future for RCPS, but also to develop a road map to take us there.

School attendance is critical for academic achievement and the preparation of students for the world of work. Each parent/guardian, having charge of a student within the compulsory attendance age, shall be responsible for the student's regular and punctual attendance at school as required by Virginia law.

Literacy means that someone can read and write.  Language development is the ability to understand and use spoken language.  The goal of reading is to be able to understand (comprehend) what you read.
