February Events

Student progress reports will be sent home tomorrow. We only have 1 1/2 9 weeks left.

Parent/Teacher Conference Evening is February 11th - please call to reserve a time to meet with teachers.

We also continue to offer YAS (we must have an registration form before a student can stay )and Opportunity School (Tues, Wed, Thurs) to help students with homework or missing assignments. If you would like your student to stay for Opportunity School, please call the main office to let us know.

We will also be posting our SOL Spring Testing Schedule today. We know you will anxiously awaiting this! The good news about that is Spring is just around the corner!!!

Stakeholders were invited to become part of the collaborative effort to develop the comprehensive plan. A committee was formed to evaluate and prioritize the data from the planning survey that was gathered in the fall of 2022. Stakeholders — including parents, community members, students, teachers, and local business leaders and partners, as well as school and division level administrators — worked for months using the survey data to not only envision a future for RCPS, but also to develop a road map to take us there.

School attendance is critical for academic achievement and the preparation of students for the world of work. Each parent/guardian, having charge of a student within the compulsory attendance age, shall be responsible for the student's regular and punctual attendance at school as required by Virginia law.

Literacy means that someone can read and write.  Language development is the ability to understand and use spoken language.  The goal of reading is to be able to understand (comprehend) what you read.
